{"id":950,"date":"2026-09-03T12:35:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T12:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sokasoga.website\/nbcsoka\/mbeya-city-set-sights-on-premier-league-success-1157.html"},"modified":"2026-09-03T12:35:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T12:35:24","slug":"mbeya-city-set-sights-on-premier-league-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sokasoga.website\/ltv\/mbeya-city-set-sights-on-premier-league-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Mbeya City set sights on Premier League success"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"media_block\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailynews.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Mayanga.jpg\" class=\"media_thumbnail\"><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailynews.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Mayanga.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><span><strong>ARUSHA:<\/strong><\/span> MBEYA City\u2019s Head Coach, Salumu Mayanga, says his side has improved technically and tactically after collecting nine points from their opening four matches of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>Mbeya City have won three matches and lost one, collecting nine points to sit fifth in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescore.com\/en\/football\/tanzania\/premier-league\/standings\/\">NBC Premier League standings.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the team\u2019s Media Day in Arusha, Mayanga said although they started the league with an unsatisfactory result, the team has continued to improve its performance as the matches progress and is now working on building a stronger combination within the squad.<\/p>\n<p>He said Mbeya City started the season with a home defeat but responded by winning their next three matches, including their first away match against Fountain Gate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGenerally, we started the league with a defeat, but as we continued playing matches, we became better technically and tactically,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mayanga said the away victory had boosted his players\u2019 confidence ahead of their match against TRA United scheduled for Saturday, September 4, insisting that they must continue working hard to secure another victory despite having two players who are not in good condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you perform well, confidence increases, and I think that is there.
